09 Oct Nonprofit View: The Integrace Institute
“You may not realize that Carroll County is home to one of the nation’s leading research institutions dedicated to supporting those living with Alzheimer’s, dementia and other forms of neurocognitive change. For more than 20 years, the Integrace Institute has worked to transform neurocognitive living through person-centered research, education and partnerships, to change society’s perception of aging.
“Like so many of us, I know firsthand what it is like to serve as a caregiver for a loved one on their journey with neurocognitive change. And while science continues to search for a cure, the Integrace Institute is dedicated to making a difference in families’ lives today. We partner with the nation’s leading universities, pharma and technology companies to conduct community-based studies that lay the foundation for person-centered care practices, technologies and interventions for all those impacted by neurocognitive change.
“Whether you are a caregiver or professional, the Integrace Institute also offers numerous educational resources and programs to provide you with the knowledge you need to best support others. This fall, we are hosting several exciting community events to spark conversations about neurocognitive health.
“This October, we are bringing together professionals and members of the community for a series of screenings of ‘Every Three Seconds,” a program featuring our work that premiered at this year’s Alzheimer’s Disease International conference. Each screening will be accompanied by a panel discussion on the prevalence of Alzheimer’s around the world, the latest research findings, and healthy living practices. We invite you to join us Oct. 16 at Frederick Community College.”
