13 Sep Celebrity chef coming to Integrace Copper Ridge this month
Integrace Copper Ridge is bringing Alzheimer’s awareness and culinary expertise together to share the impacts of healthy eating on the mind and body.
From 3 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 26, renowned chef, Food Network star and Alzheimer’s advocate Madison Cowan will be preparing some of his signature dishes and answering food and cooking questions at Copper Ridge, 710 Obrecht Road, Sykesville.
Cowan — the first-ever grand champion of Food Network’s “Chopped” — currently co-stars in BBC America’s travel series “No Kitchen Required.” He is also a 2018 recipient of the Integrace Institute’s Proxmire Award for his work to inspire Alzheimer’s awareness and proactive attitudes toward cognitive health.
“Having Madison visit Integrace Copper Ridge is really exciting for us,” Integrace Vice President of Neurocognitive Clinic Operations Cindy Yingling said this week. “And [it’s] an opportunity to share with him the Copper Ridge program and model how it supports individuals — not only that live with us, but people in the greater community.
“We have been a proponent of the mind diet and healthy eating,” she said, “and how that helps individuals living the journey as well as their caregivers. [Madison] has been a proponent for that, and his interest in Alzheimer’s advocacy as well as good cognitive health is a fun way for him to be able to put his passion to work as a chef.”
