08 May Caregiver educational series offered
“FREDERICK, Md. — The Frederick County (Md.) Department of Aging and Copper Ridge Integrace Institute are partnering to sponsor a caregiver educational series in Frederick that will present information on the latest findings in dementia research.
“The series will feature Integrace Institute Executive Director Tabassum Majid, Ph.D., as the speaker.
“Each meeting will feature light fare and conversation from 5:30 to 6 p.m. and be followed by the educational program from 6 to 7 p.m. All meetings will be at the Frederick County Department of Aging, 1440 Taney Ave. in Frederick.
“Topics for the series include:
- Wednesday, May 16 — Living with mild cognitive impairment: a panel discussion
- Wednesday, June 13 — Decision making and preferences in care
- Wednesday, July 11 — The latest advances in dementia diagnosis and prevention
“Majid received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland in neurodegenerative disorders of the aged. She earned her Ph.D. in translational medicine of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD) from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. She completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Maryland, School of Pharmacy, researching care management decision making.”
